About
As one of the ten major buildings in the capital, the National Agricultural Exhibition Center had its location, dimensions, layout and style personally reviewed according to the Premier’s vision. Officially completed in 1959 to mark the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China and the first large-scale national exhibition, the center’s creation showcases a heritage of nearly four decades. Since then, it has become a treasured landmark and focal point. The center is located in Beijing on the East Third Ring Road, east of Nongzhan Bridge, with an excellent geographical position. Described as enjoying the esteemed feng shui of a “dragon’s eye” and “treasure” in the ancient capital, transportation is extremely convenient — accessible, and without the traffic restrictions common at other exhibition venues. It is exactly a 20‑minute drive from the center to Beijing Capital International Airport. The exhibition hall sits within the thriving International Trade Center of the capital, separated from the diplomatic compound. The Agricultural Exhibition Hall is within 2 kilometers of The Great Wall Hotel, other five‑star hotels, the Yansha Youyi Shopping Center, and over 200 fitness facilities, in the fastest‑growing economic area of Beijing — accommodation is extremely convenient. With a unique community ambience and strong social reputation, exhibitions held here frequently host gatherings of Chinese and foreign businesspeople, generating extraordinary excitement and offering significant advantages. In the 1980s, national apparel shows and other events drew daily audiences of up to one million visitors, setting attendance records. In the 1990s, when China’s auto market first emerged, the Agricultural Exhibition Center’s auto supermarket ignited unprecedented fervor, stirring Beijing and the nation. The venue was taken extremely seriously, and many hopeful organizers had to be turned away. The center covers an area of 52 hectares, with 10 exhibition halls built in a traditional Chinese architectural style. Total floor area reached 25,000 square meters; construction began on November 8, 2004, and was officially launched in May 2005. Employing a large‑span single‑column pipe‑bridge structure, the main hall is 152.5 meters long and 86 meters wide, offering a display area of 13,000 square meters and a maximum height of 15.6 meters. The completion of the new hall greatly expanded our exhibition capacity, and the hall has become a major rental highlight. At the same time, there are three plazas with a total area of 40,000 square meters. It is the largest exhibition center in Beijing and the largest single exhibition footprint in the city, especially suited for large‑scale machinery exhibitions and other massive events. With courtyard trees, brocade‑like blooms, rippling lakes, gleaming yellow‑glazed tile eaves, and classical architectural walkways, the environment is extremely beautiful — the only large‑scale exhibition hall in Beijing with a traditional Chinese garden style. Businesspeople agree that the Agricultural Exhibition Hall provides an excellent venue for major exhibitions. Reception‑level display areas and meeting rooms offer good conditions for guests, welcoming small‑ and medium‑scale meetings. Printing, copying, business services, fax, direct domestic and international dialing, and other services make communication very convenient, backed by complete office equipment. A multi‑function hall, equipped with high‑end lighting and audio, can host conferences and banquets. Behind the lake, a hotel offers more than 80 rooms and 200 beds, with well‑appointed facilities and a comfortable environment. A supervised customs warehouse of 4,000 square meters fully meets the needs of the exhibition center and large‑scale international exhibitions. Over the years, the National Agricultural Exhibition Center has built a broad range of training programs, stylistic strengths, and a professional technical team with regular training — the only state‑provided “one‑stop premium” service exhibition facility. Services include exhibition planning, content editing, decoration, design, advertising, lighting, photography, video, audio, photo quantification, business‑cultural reproduction, sample preparation, and mechanical and building maintenance — high quality, fast turnaround, and simplified processes. Exhibitions at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center can be held at just 5% of the cost at ten other Beijing exhibition halls. To compete in the market for operating funds, its pricing faces market competition, driving internal reforms and the cultivation of knowledge management techniques and technology.
