Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center consists of the main building, exhibition square, folk song square, administrative complex, etc. The total construction area is 152,100 square meters, comprising three parts: conference, exhibition, and a large banquet hall. The usable area of the multi-functional circular hall is 3,000 square meters. Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center covers an area of 850 mu and is the permanent venue for the China-ASEAN Expo. It was designed by GMP Architekten from Germany and Guangxi Architectural Design and Research Institute. The main architectural design features excellent creativity and clever ideas, inheriting the momentum of construction. The construction of a main project started on September 28, 2000, officially opened on October 23, 2003, and passed the completion acceptance by the end of December of the same year; the supporting project started on April 10, 2004, was completed on September 30, and passed the completion acceptance on October 18; construction of the main building started on April 20, 2004, and was planned to be put into use in June 2005; Phase I of the folk song square was initiated on July 1, 2003, and passed the completion acceptance on October 31. Phase II of the project began at the end of July 2004 and passed the completion acceptance on October 18 of the same year. The main building of Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center and the main structures including the exhibition square and administrative building have a total construction area of 152,100 square meters, consisting of three parts: conference, exhibition, and a large banquet hall. The conference section includes a conference center, multi-functional hall, office space, 14 meeting rooms (halls) of different specifications, a full set of professional audio equipment, a 10+1 simultaneous interpretation system, video conferencing system, public address system, security system, computer network system, and press center, meeting the requirements for various international conferences, business negotiations, and domestic academic presentations. The multi-functional circular hall of 3,000 square meters can accommodate 1,500 people and is an ideal venue for various meetings, banquets, exhibitions, cultural activities, etc. The large banquet hall can accommodate 1,000 people dining simultaneously, with 34 private rooms and open cooking stations. With elegant decoration and a comfortable environment, it is an ideal place to hold all kinds of banquets. The exhibition section has two floors, with a total of 15 exhibition halls of different specifications (the largest exhibition hall is 8,100 square meters), an exhibition area of over 48,000 square meters, capable of accommodating 3,360 international standard booths and over 300 non-standard booths. The administrative building has a construction area of 15,800 square meters, composed of office rooms, a multi-functional exhibition hall, exhibition-related processing and storage, etc., also equipped with a conference hall for 300 people. The main building exhibition hall has 110 booths, a multi-functional hall can be set up, and the administrative offices and office building complex can accommodate 203 booths, with an exhibition area of over 80,000 square meters. In addition, Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center features an ecological parking lot covering 35,600 square meters and can park approximately 1,000 vehicles, as well as a folk square covering 256 mu. The folk square serves functions such as cultural activities, exhibitions, sports, and leisure, and is the main venue for the annual Nanning International Folk Song Art Festival, with the main venue capable of accommodating 35,000 people. The multi-functional hall is located in the center of the site, at the front of the main building, relatively independent on the south side of the exhibition center. A two-story natural stone base with reinforced concrete columns supports a distinctive roof; the orderly columns impart a strong sense of rhythm. The natural stone finishes provide a visual foundation and outdoor terrace platforms, offering outdoor space for exhibitors and serving as outdoor exhibition areas. A new set of structures—the roof of the central hall and the uniquely shaped flying exhibition halls—become the architectural signature of the entire exhibition center, fully expressing its design character. The multi-functional hall sits on a hill at an elevation of 108 meters (building elevation 9 meters) at the first end of the main building. The folded-plate dome is the "finishing touch" of the entire convention and exhibition center architecture, supported by lightweight steel trusses and covered with an insulating semi-transparent membrane. Soft natural light entering through the membrane creates a unique spatial atmosphere in the domed hall. The conference center is located on the lower floor (building elevation 0 meters / elevation 99 meters), with 5 flexibly usable meeting halls and supporting facilities such as a restaurant. The conference center has a separate entrance, allowing it to be used independently from the exhibition center. At floor level, the entrances of the exhibition center and the entrance building are connected.
