About
The construction of the Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center to create a new national hub for exhibitions and commerce is a major decision by the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government to implement the national strategy for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and Zhejiang Province's 'Two Forerunners' development strategy, thereby elevating the city's comprehensive capacity and core competitiveness. It is a key initiative under the vision of 'Forging Ahead in the New Era and Building a New Paradise' to develop a world-class, modern socialist international metropolis. Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center is located in the Nanyang Subdistrict area of the Hangzhou Airport Economic Demonstration Zone, situated downstream of the Qiantang River, within the hinterland of the Hangzhou Bay bridgehead, northwest of Xiaoshan Airport. It is just 3 kilometers from the airport and 20 kilometers from the main urban area of Hangzhou, endowed with abundant scenic and cultural resources and convenient locational and transportation advantages. On December 30, 2020, construction officially commenced on the first phase of the Grand Convention and Exhibition Center project. The convention and exhibition business district, centered around the Grand Convention and Exhibition Center, is located in the northwest of the Airport Economic Demonstration Zone. As one of the initial launch areas of the demonstration zone, it is dedicated to becoming a key engine for high-quality airport economic development, and a hub for a comprehensive business chain centered on the exhibition economy.
